EMDR Intensives at REM Therapy

Ok, this one I’m pretty excited for. This new offering, that will be launched within the month - I think has the opportunity to truly revolutionize how people think of and experience therapy.

So, the big news: I'm currently in the stages of developing an in-person EMDR Intensive program (based in Markham, ON) where clients have the option to basically squeeze MONTHS of therapy into 1-3 full days straight. This option could be good for people who find it hard to get deep into EMDR therapy in just the traditional 50-min sessions and don't like the stopping and starting of weekly sessions. Some people take a little longer to warm up, and feel like regular therapy sessions are just too short to get robust and meaningful therapy results in a timely manner. EMDR Intensives can also be good for people who are highly motivated to get right into EMDR processing, fast, and it can be a good alternative for people who simply don't have the time to commit to regular ongoing daytime sessions, but can dedicate a few days off to really work on their therapy goals. Almost like a mental health retreat.

EMDR Intensives are essentially a way to fast-track the healing process by doing several EMDR sessions in a shorter time frame (1-3 full days at REM Therapy). It's a more concentrated approach where you dive deep into processing trauma or difficult emotions, with the goal of making more progress in a shorter amount of time compared to traditional weekly sessions.

Now for transparency; As there's a heavy time investment and more behind-the-scenes work involved, EMDR Intensives will be considered a premium service and a higher-priced offering. Still, it could also save you a lot of time and energy in the long run, and offer great results sooner for clients who are seeking relief.

To be clear - the research shows that traditional weekly/biweekly EMDR sessions and intensive treatment BOTH offer great results, and are actually comparable for outcomes. However, EMDR Intensives offer a great option for those who are ready for focused, transformative healing, and want it FAST. It's not for everyone, but for those who are looking to put in the work and make significant progress, it can be a game-changer.
